Post Birthday Recap + Fun Birthday Workouts

Ohhhh my goodness gracious. I am still feeling  overwhelmed with all the love I got on my birthday this past Thursday. I am truly blessed with the lovely friends and family God has placed in my life. I feel like birthdays are God’s little reminder to each of us that shows just how loved we really are!

I had such an amazing week filled with lots of laughs, fun surprises, and incredibly too much dessert. All of which are good for the soul 🙂

My sweet roommate came into my room at midnight with a candle and sang happy birthday to me. She also put a tiara on my head and gave me a bag of my all time favorite goodies from Bloomingfoods, the local health food store. She is the greatest 🙂

In case you guys care, my goodies included:

  • Evolution Fresh Organic Strawberry Lemonade —> This stuff is SO good. I love this brand because they pride themselves on not including preservatives or chemicals in their juice. They also have tons of other amazing flavors. This one is more on the sweeter side and would be considered more of a sweet treat because of the organic cane sugar that is included.
  • Bloomingfood’s fresh baked Vegan Cookie —> They literally make the BEST vegan cookies in the world, plus they are huge. I’m not vegan, but it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with them. They usually have chocolate chip or peanut butter, both of which are amazing & they are only $1. It is SO hard not to splurge and get one every time I’m in there (which is often).
  • Dark chocolate covered coffee beans. —> UM, these are also amazing. You can’t get much better then the dark chocolate + coffee combo! If you can’t tell I have a huge sweet tooth.

Bottom line,  if you are ever in the area you need to make a pit stop at this place. You will not be disappointed.

Alrightttt, back to the recap. I had an 8 AM that morning so I had to be up early. As I was about to walk out of my room to head to the kitchen to make some coffee, I was quickly entangled in a web of streamers she had put up in my doorway before she went to bed the night before. When I finally made it out alive, I noticed even more streamers along with lots of balloons and signs everywhere. It was truly comical and definitely made my morning!

If you don’t have a roommate as sweet or as hilarious as that, then you are truly missing out! She is the true definition of a selfless person and teaches me every day, not just on my birthday, how to love like Jesus. It has been an awesome privilege living with her this year. I have learned so much from her!

Now let’s get into my birthday workout! As some of you know, I turned 22 this past week. (Go ahead and sing Taylor Swift. I know you want to.) Since I turned 22, I decided to make that the theme of the workout. It was actually a pretty hard workout. I felt like the sweatiest person alive as I was leaving the gym. I combined a small treadmill HIIT workout and a circuit workout:

Happy Birthday HIIT 22Circuit Celebration 22

The rest of the day, and honestly the week, was filled with sushi and cafe’s. Two of God’s greatest gifts to this earth 🙂 That might be a little too far, but I definitely find delight in both of them!

Random side note: Today is Palm Sunday and I’m really challenging myself this week to be in tune and really be intentional about the significance of this week. I tend to overlook the whole point of why we celebrate Easter and instead focus on family (which is not necessarily a bad thing), Easter eggs, and chocolate bunnies. I’m not saying I don’t think about Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross, but I tend to be numb and not feel anything when instead I should be in complete awe. I was reading in my Jesus Calling devotional yesterday and this part really got my attention, “I am a God who gives and gives and gives. When I died for you on the cross, I held back nothing; I poured out My Life like a drink offering.” If that doesn’t get you pumped I don’t know what will. Jesus HELD BACK NOTHING, so why should we? He wants SO desperately for us to recognize that. He died for a reason. He didn’t die so we could hold on to that burden. He died so we could be F R E E. Take advantage of the fact that we have a cool guy named Jesus on our side, who just happens to be the Savior of the whole entire world, and would LOVE it (totally not joking when I say He would LOVE it) if you surrendered that burden, or whatever has been bothering you lately, to Him.

Just a thought for you to ponder this week. Make it a good one! <3

I’m curious to find out what blog platform you’re using? I’m experiencing some minor security issues with my
latest site and I would like to find something more safeguarded.
    Do you have any suggestions?

I was considering to start soon. It’s definitely exciting to really contribute to an article even if it’s only
