Happy Friday everyone!
It is easily one my favorite days of the week. The work week is finally winding down and I have a little more free time on my hands.
I love reading different blogs and a lot of them have a set day of the week they share what they’re loving that week. “Friday Favorites” is definitely one of the most popular ones I’ve seen. A lot of bloggers share anything from clothing brands and makeup to recipes, links, and books. It’s neat learning about new things and hearing the different opinions about different products.
I’ve always thought that was a fun concept and have thought about doing that myself. However, I want it to have a little twist; be a little more than just “things.” I would like to also include how God is working in my life and what He’s revealing to me as I continue to develop a deeper relationship with Him. It’s a gradual and continual process that never stops. We don’t just wake up one day and realize we’ve gone the farthest we can go. That’s why I hope this part of the post can serve as an encouragement or a reminder, whether in the form of a single verse, song lyrics, divine encounters or even the simple blessings in life. 🙂
I may not make a post every week, but I will try my best to at least post once a month. Bare with me as I attempt to develop a blogging routine.
Now let’s dive right in.
- Chocolate Protein Waffles (recipe coming soon!)
- Hitch 🙂 Finally watched the movie all the way through last night and loved it!
- Trail running at Griffy Lake. It was absolutely beautiful and a good change from the pavement.
- Sinful Delight ground coffee from Big Ben Coffee. The flavor combo is the bomb -mocha, toffee, and almond – SO good. The Incredible Hulk mug just enhanced the experience.
- My best friend’s wedding I got the privilege of being in. All of these girls are such blessings!
- These awesome reminders I found while on social media this past week:
I thought these reminders were so important. In case the first one is difficult to read, it states “How completely satisfying to turn from our limitations to a God who has none.” We often try so hard to do things on our own and end up falling short. Although our human flesh may be limited, the Holy Spirit lives within un WITHOUT LIMITS. This radical realization has the power to completely change your mindset and outlook every day if you let it. Wake up and let God take the wheel today. He’s the better driver anyway 🙂
This second quote really spoke to me as well. We all know social media is the bomb.com. We get to stay up to date on what our friends are doing and what’s going on in the world in general. However, a lot of girls (myself included) get on social media and end up comparing themselves to the lives and beauty of other girls. All of a sudden, we’re feeling discontent because we don’t look a certain way or have what she has. These are all lies that Satan likes to feed us and we have to try our hardest not to let them get to us. Each one of us was carefully designed and created by the King of ALL Kings, so we must walk in confidence. The beauty of others or even ourselves does not define us. If we choose to let it, then we will forever be living in unhappiness. Jesus Christ is our only definition. The bottom line is this: yes, we will always encounter girls we THINK our prettier than us, but we must never devalue our own beauty. It’s the same as telling the God of the universe He didn’t do a very good job and that breaks His heart.
On a lighter note, I hope you guys have a fantastic Friday!
Is anyone doing anything crazy?
